PHOTO MACAU | Art Fair held a successful event on the 24th of September 2017 at the Total Museum of Contemporary Art to showcase ‘Video Portraits 2’, an exhibition featuring video works curated by two of PHOTO MACAU| Art Fair’s advisors.
“Since we were in Seoul for the 16th edition of KIAF, to meet with some amazing Korean galleries, we thought it would be a good occasion to bring together lovers of video art and moving images.
Video, alongside photography, will be very much at the centre of our Art Fair in March 2018 and we wanted to hold an event to feature the exhibition curated by two of our talented advisors, Johann Nowak and Nathalie Boseul Shin.” Cecilia Ho, PHOTO MACAU | Art Fair founder and executive director
The event gathered artists, gallerists, curators and lovers of art alike. “As an artist and a great appreciator of art, to me these events and occasions are really what Photo Macau is all about. We want to bring art aficionados together around great pieces which spark passionate discussion and interest. We were happy to see that both great appreciators of video art as well as those still discovering it joined us on the day and were able to hear directly from the curators themselves about the artworks.”
Johann Nowak, Independent Curator, and Nathalie Boseul Shin, Curator at the Total Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul, brought together an interesting variety of pieces by artists from across the world. The exhibition showcased some exceptional videos from a range of artists including Gary Hill, Mariana Vassileva, Theo Eshetu, Kyungwoo Choo, Nezaket Ekici/ Shahar Marcus and Christian Jankowski.
Thank you to all our guests who joined us on the day. The exhibition is on until the 22nd of October 2017. If you are a lover of video art, the exhibition is highly recommended.
